Avengers 2 Podcast!

Well, two posts in pretty quick succession, but we finally got this too upload properly. Youtube was being a real brat.

We went to see Avengers 2 yesterday! We quite enjoyed it and, after letting everything settle and thinking it over a bit more, we went over it one more time. What did we like? What didn’t we like? Did the themes work? Was Ultron a good villain?

All off this and more we talked about in the podcast, so go give it a listen!

What did you think of the movie? Did it blow all other Marvel movies out of the water? Let us know in the comments below!

The Problem With Videogame Movies!

download (14)

Last Thursday Wikileaks posted thousands of files that were originally uncovered last year when Sony Pictures was hacked. Many of these files were somehow tied to video games and a good number of them mentioned the Uncharted movie.

For some people that will be great news while others will claim this series shouldn’t get a movie deal. We can definitely see both sides, but regardless of which side you’re on, we noticed something about the emails talking about the movie. Some pretty odd claims are being made here.

Of course it’s strange enough that they’re making another video game movie. It seems like a good idea to both give the fans something a little new and squeeze some money from the franchise, but video game movies are almost never good. That’s bound to happen when you try to cram around 20 hours of story and character development in about two hours.

The Last Avengers 2: Age of Ultron Trailer

Well, today certainly seems to be the day of final trailers. This 4th and final trailer for Avengers 2 Age of Ultron came out yesterday and boy, what a trailer it is.

The new Mad Max trailer looks Insane(ly good)

Get busy driving, or get busy dying, for the new Mad Max trailer is looking positively sick. We can’t say we’ve ever had a shot of heroin, but if it’s anywhere near as exciting as this two and a half minute rush of adrenaline we’ll be hitting up our local street-dealer first thing tomorrow.

Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises), standing in for Mel Gibson as the slightly-less-deranged Max, and Charlize Theron (Snow White and the Huntsman), as escape artist Imperator Furiosa, certainly got us excited for Fury Road, which will see a worldwide release this May.

The trailer kicks off with Max trying desperately to escape from the rusty hatchets of Immortan Joe, the film’s big bad warlord portrayed by Hugh Keays-Byrne, and his cronies. His escape proves only a slight success however, as this mad world is quick to pull Max back in as Max gets involved in Furiosa’s daring ploy to liberate the warlord’s many young sex slaves.

Why Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool movie absolutely has to be rated R

Ryan Reynolds

We greet you with a plate of chimichanga’s, because it’s time to talk chop. (Get it, chop-shop? Forget it.)

After the leak, and subsequent reception, of the 2-minute CG-clip showing off Ryan Reynolds as the always titillating and profoundly profane Deadpool, Marvel finally greenlit the production of a dedicated feature-film.

But, with rumors of a PG-13 rating spreading like wildfire, will the movie truly be able to capture the spirit of the comics?
