Pokémon Sun and Moon: New Pokémon, Ultra Beasts and the Aether Foundation!

TELLING US A LOT, WITHOUT TELLING US MUCH

Another trailer, another load of information to go through! We are noticing a bit of a pattern by now of the trailers throwing concepts at our head with no real details, which is getting a bit annoying, but there are clearly some new things we can talk about.

Pokémon Sun and Moon: Pokémon, Theories and Rumors

SOME CERTAINTY AND A FAIR BIT OF SPECULATION

So, another trailer hit the net and we have some new Pokémon to talk about. However, that’s not the only thing we’ll be doing. We’ve not really talked about fan theories or anything of the sort yet, as those are generally disproven, but a few were either detailed enough to be interesting or still haven’t been entirely debunked.

As such, we’ll look at the new Pokémon first and then talk about some theories and rumours.

Final Fantasy XV: One Last Delay (After 10 Years)

WELL, NOBODY CAN SAY THEY RUSHED THE GAME

To call Final Fantasy XV’s development troubled is like calling the dead sea  faintly salty. Introduced back in 2006 as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, the game has now been in development in one form or another for 10 bloody years.

Now another trailer has come out. This is the 4th trailer in the World of Wonder promotion series and this one focusses mainly on aquatic regions and creatures. The game still looks absolutely gorgeous, but you have to wonder if it’s not put itself in an unmanageable position by this point. After 10 years, people will expect a lot from this game.

It has now been confirmed that the game will be delayed. Instead of September 30th, it will not be released until November 29th. Square Enix is supposedly considering releasing a PC version, so if we’re lucky we should get that somewhere between 2020 and the heat death of the universe.

With the new date in mind, if you’re still on the fence about getting the game, let’s talk about a few things about its development that stood out to us.

(More) Pokémon Sun and Moon news: Part 1 – The Pokémon

SOME NEW FACES (AND SOME OLD ONES)

Well, another Pokémon Sun and Moon trailer dumped a load of info in our laps a few days ago. We actually hadn’t talked about two older trailers yet and we do want to address at least part of those. We’re once again splitting the article in two, with one this part talking about the Pokémon and the second part talking about some mechanics we’ve seen and the recently revealed Team Skull.

That being said, we’re not talking about all Pokémon from the last few trailers. We’ll mention those that stood out to us from the older trailers and focus on the new Pokémon in the most recent trailer, the CoroCoro magazine leak and the Alolan forms.

If you want to skip right to the gameplay features, you can find part 2 here. If not, let’s talk Pokémon!

Pokémon Sun and Moon: News and Speculation!

TELLING US A LOT, WHILE NOT TELLING US ALL THAT MUCH

Look, Nintedo and E3 just don’t really go together. They’ve already given up on holding actual conferences like most of their competitors do and instead focus on their Nintendo Treehouse streams. The lack of spectacle, though, often makes them seems rather disappointing by comparison, whether that is justified or not.

Still, at least they started with the games we actually wanted to hear about. Zelda looks like it will be amazing and Pokémon Sun and Moon…Okay, yeah, they immediately dropped the ball again after Zelda. Above you’ll find a new trailer, released after the Tree house stream, and below we’re going into what we learned from both that and the stream.

Pokémon Sun and Moon: New Trailer, New Region and New legendaries!

OWLS AND CATS AND SEA LIONS, OH MY!

Well, we’ve got a fair bit of information to work through. We got the name of this new region and saw a bit of it, got to know our starters and even met the two showcase legendaries.

Or…Well…We saw the legendaries, we just have no idea what they’re called yet. Either way, after a pretty long silence on the matter, we finally have new material to analyse and overthink!

5 Main Things We Want To See In Pokémon Sun and Moon (Plus 3 Minor Things)

maxresdefault

An update on Pokémon Sun and Moon is, supposedly, only hours away (At time of writing) and we’re quite eager to find out what it will entail. Will it just be another teaser trailer, or are we actually getting some gameplay and new Pokémon this time? Will there be new mechanics?

Pokémon never fails to get us hyped when it comes to new games. That being said, we’ve been loyal fans since then beginning and we’ve watched the games try out new things with each new generation, keeping some changes for future instalments and discarding others as they went along. By now, we know very well what pitfalls these games can encounter and there’s just certain things we hope they’ll avoid with Sun and Moon.

Of course, there’s thing we definitely hope they’ll include too! Both dropped features from older games, such as having Pokémon walk with you, or features that were never included in the first place but are often demanded by the fans.

Hence this list! These are the things we most hope to find in Pokémon Sun and Moon!

The Long Dark Alpha Review

A FINE ARGUMENT FOR HUNTING WOLVES INTO EXCTINCTION

There are a lot of games built around the idea of survival in an unhospitable place. Often these also have zombies running around, which never fails to raise the question of why you wouldn’t try to survive anywhere else.

In most of these games, you eventually become something of a god of the wilderness, lugging around a presumably massive backpack full of crafting materials and DIY survival tools. The Long Dark says screw all that and sets out to remind you that you’d be a massive liability in any sort of survival situation.

Stardew Valley Review

SOOOO, BASICALLY HARVEST MOON?

header

Some days you don’t want to save the world. Running around with a huge gun and shooting aliens or zombies or people who look at you funny just loses its appeal at times. Some days you just want to wander around a farm, raising vegetables and cattle and generally kind of wasting time.

If that sort of mindless relaxation is what you’re looking for, Stardew Valley is exactly the indie game you need.
